INSiGHT Scanning

Stop Guessing What Your Child’s Nervous System Is Doing

INSiGHT scans show us why things aren’t regulating — and how to help.

At Ideal Family Chiropractic in North Logan, we don’t guess — we measure.

Our INSiGHT Scanning system is the same technology originally developed with NASA to measure how astronauts’ nervous systems adapted to the extreme stress of space. Today, we use it in our office to assess how well your nervous system is adapting to the stress of daily life — birth, parenting, pregnancy, chronic overwhelm — and to track healing in real time.

Whether it’s for your child, yourself, or your entire family, INSiGHT Scanning allows us to see what’s working, what’s not, and how to create a custom care plan that actually gets results.

What Is INSiGHT Scanning?

INSiGHT Scanning is a three-part, non-invasive exam used to evaluate the health and function of the nervous system — especially the brain-body connection and the autonomic (automatic) nervous system that controls sleep, digestion, immunity, mood, and more.

Here’s what each scan does:

  • NeuroThermal (Infrared Thermography)
Measures temperature patterns along the spine to identify areas of inflammation and autonomic stress. Think of it like a heat map showing where your child’s (or your own) nervous system is “stuck in stress mode.”

  • NeuroCore (sEMG – Surface Electromyography)
Tracks muscle tone, energy use, and symmetry in the spinal muscles. This is essential for identifying motor development issues in kids, tension in adults, and nervous system fatigue across all ages.

  • HRV (Heart Rate Variability)
HRV is the gold standard for measuring adaptability and vagus nerve function. It tells us how well your nervous system is switching between “fight or flight” and “rest, regulate, and heal.”

Together, these scans provide a 360-degree view of nervous system function — without radiation, discomfort, or guesswork.

These scans are safe and effective for infants, children, pregnant women, and adults — and are often the first step toward understanding the root cause of ongoing health concerns.

Why It Matters for Kids — and Adults

For children, INSiGHT scans reveal the neurological stress that may be contributing to:

  • Colic, reflux, and constipation

  • Sensory issues or meltdowns

  • Speech delays or poor coordination

  • Sleep struggles and immune challenges

  • Focus and attention

  • OCD, ODD, Anxiety

  • Bedwetting

But it’s not just for kids.

For Adults — Especially Moms

We often scan the parents too — because we know the stress doesn’t stop with the child. Many adults are carrying chronic stress patterns, nervous system fatigue, and vagus nerve dysfunction that go undetected for years.

INSiGHT scans can help reveal:

  • Why you’re exhausted, even after sleeping

  • Why digestion or hormones feel off

  • Why you’re stuck in high alert or emotionally drained

  • How well your body is truly adapting to stress — and what to do about it

This is especially critical for prenatal patients. A calm, well-regulated nervous system helps moms sleep better, digest better, and prepare for a smoother birth and postpartum experience.

The common thread? A stressed, stuck, or dysregulated nervous system.

INSiGHT Scanning reveals the root — the “why” behind the symptoms — so we can create a chiropractic care plan that actually works.

For kids, this often means identifying nervous system stress before it becomes a chronic issue. For prenatal patients and adults, it provides a measurable way to understand and support your body’s ability to handle stress and recover.

The Science Behind the Scan (for the Dads Who Want the Data)

INSiGHT Scanning is based on NASA-certified technology. It was originally used to monitor how astronauts’ nervous systems adapted to space travel — and has since been adapted for use in clinical chiropractic care.

Here’s the deal:

  • It’s data-driven. The scans use infrared, electromyography, and heart rhythm sensors to read real-time feedback from your nervous system.

  • It’s reproducible. These scans are performed under standardized conditions and provide objective results, which means we’re tracking physiology, not just symptoms.

  • It’s trackable. Every 12 visits, we rescan to evaluate how your nervous system is healing — and adjust your care plan based on measurable progress you can see.

What to Expect at Your Visit

At your first visit, you or your child will receive a full INSiGHT scan. The process takes about 15 minutes, is completely non-invasive, and works for babies, children, teens, pregnant moms, and adults.

Dr. Tyler will walk you through the results with clarity and transparency. You’ll learn:

  • How your nervous system is handling stress

  • Where subluxation, dysautonomia, or vagus nerve dysfunction may be present

  • What needs to change — and how we’re going to help

From there, we build a customized care plan — and reassess every 12 visits using the same scans to ensure nothing is left to guesswork.
